Students
from Cashion High School visited Francis Tuttle Technology Center to
see training options available to them if the April 2 annexation
election passes. Sophomores and juniors toured two Francis Tuttle
campuses on February 7 to help them learn more about training programs
in which they have interest.
If
the measure passes on April 2, seniors expected to graduate this Spring
will be eligible to apply for Francis Tuttle’s “Next Step Scholarship”
within fifteen months of graduation, which would allow them to attend
tuition-free the following year for up to 1,050 hours (approximately 1
year, full-time).
Cashion
is one of a handful of school districts statewide that does not have a
direct affiliation with an Oklahoma Technology Center, part of the
statewide CareerTech system. Voters have the capability to annex to
Francis Tuttle with the upcoming election.
In
addition to opportunities for high school students to receive training
at no cost, successful passage would make businesses located within the
Cashion school district eligible for low-cost, highly acclaimed
training through Francis Tuttle’s Business and Industry Services
division.
